The college experience at Elmira means meeting students from around the world and participating in timeless traditions and community service projects. From arts and culture to game nights and DIY projects, Elmira's campus is a hub of activity for students to connect with each other or take a break and recharge. Students who live on campus have higher GPAs due to the proximity of classes, faculty, and facilities like the library, allowing students to be more engaged.

There's nothing like the electrifying energy of a home basketball game and stands full of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends cheering on their Soaring Eagles. Elmira College has 16 varsity athletics teams, including seven men's, seven women's, and two co-ed teams. Starting fall 2024, men's and women's lacrosse will return to the field. The Soaring Eagles compete at the Division III level level and have captured six national championships, including three in women's ice hockey and three in cheerleading.
The City of Elmira is a small, quaint town with big-city connections. Located in New York's picturesque Finger Lakes, it's a jumping-off point for skiing, golf, hiking, water sports, bike touring, museums, and restaurants. Throughout the year, Elmira Downtown Development hosts events such as outdoor concerts, a weekly farmers market, street painting festival, and outdoor movie nights.
